Register for the 2018 Healthy Hearts 5K Run/Walk; Read 2017 Race Results
McAllen Heart Hospital’s Healthy Hearts 5K, held in February 2017, raised $9,864.75 for the American Heart Association.
With these funds, approximately seven secondary campuses in Hidalgo County will be receiving a CPR in Schools Training Kit, which is equipped with everything a school needs to execute CPR training to hundreds of students. Students learn CPR utilizing inflatable manikins and curriculum contained in the kit. The program also provides lesson plans for teachers and supplemental online resources.
Schools work with the American Heart Association’s CPR in Schools Manager to develop their training plan for the school year.
We look forward to deploying these kits to one lucky school district during the 2017-2018 School Year and potentially saving lives in our community!
